Niiella Set To Release Her Brand New Single

After months of hard work and dedication finally the super collaboration from Niiella’s camp featuring the one and only 2015 GMA award winning Joe Mettle is here. The title of the song is Obiara Nni Ho and is a simple song that can be sang by anyone. It’s sure to cut across as it’s quite worshipful and yet has a catchy beat.

The song which simply says there is none like our God in the dialect of twi was written and composed mainly by Niiella and also by Joe who wrote the second verse and helped with the overall arrangement. Niiella says she took inspiration from how good God has been to her and how he has been the constant factor in her life in spite of everything that has happened, nothing comes in comparison to him, hence the words “there is none like you”.

The song was recorded at Groove House Studios in Kasoa and some of Ghana’s finest musicians came together to make the piece what it is today; namely, Opoku Agyemang Sanaa of “God Can” fame, Emmanuel Bludo, Charlie Keyz and Francis Kwaku Osei the owner of Groove House himself. One of Ghana’s fast rising choirs Overflow assisted with the backing vocals and their MD David JLoopz helped with arrangements also.
The song is set to be released in a few days on the 24th of November 2015. It’s almost upon us. So tell a friend to tell a friend!

In the western world, legends are honored, appreciated and celebrated all the time. They are awarded in their various fields of endeavor when they are alive and active. Even when they finally give up the ghost, they still get acknowledgements and recognition.

Celebrating legends posthumously has become the order of the day in our part of the world. Legends die many years before they are celebrated or anything done in their names. KC ENTERTAINMENT, a Christian event promotion and management outfit based in Accra believes it is prudent if legends are honored and appreciated while they are alive and can relish in the accolades, praise and other benefits that come from being recognized as a legend. The company feels it is wrong to wait till a legend dies before praises and accolades are showered on them, when the same can be done whiles they are alive.

Owing to the above, an event dubbed CELEBRATION OF FAITHFULNESS has been put together by KC ENTERTAINMENT to honor a pioneer and legend of contemporary Gospel music, Danny Nettey for his immense contribution to the Gospel music industry and its evolution. The legendary Gospel musician will be the first recipient to be honored by this initiative of KC. The idea, according to information available to is to honor and give legends that are being celebrated a place of honor at the event together with their family and fans.

Danny Nettey’s own songs will be performed by other musicians. He will also be presented with a plaque in recognition of his hard work, success and contribution to the entertainment industry in Ghana. The celebration is also a platform to gather funds in support of the DANNY NETTEY SCHOOL PROJECT.

Born the third of six children to a retired evangelist and his praying wife in Ghana, West Africa, Daniel Tetteh Nettey is a landowner of the nation’s capital.  He started writing songs at the early age of six, playing the organ without any formal lessons.  He was heavily influenced by his father’s love of Blues and the vibrant musical culture of his native people.  His interest in music persisted throughout his school days in Accra Academy, where he served as Music Director and President of the local Scripture Union Fellowship.

After “BL3OO” days, He joined a group of young talented song ministers whose calling was to the youth especially those in Secondary Schools.  The activities of the then up and coming Gospel Ministers circled around prayer, study of the word and song ministry.

By this time, He was writing songs which were being ministered in his local church.  He answered God’s call for him to minister in songs to the nation and beyond and started his own group called “Danny Nettey and Pals”.  Through this group He continued in what he knew best to do; taking the message of the Gospel to the Secondary schools and ministering in churches across West Africa.

In 1995, He released his solo debut album ‘Positive Change’, which did very well with Ghanaian youth.  In 1996 another album, this time with the Pals, was released.  Through this second album a ministry by name ‘It’s About Time Productions’ was birthed.  Its main goal was to train and produce talented young song ministers in Ghana and West Africa.

He has traveled extensively throughout Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.  Over the past ten years He has been touching lives through the ministration of God’s word through songs, with many testifying to God’s saving and healing power as a result of his inspiring ministrations.

He has been featured on the same bill as Internationally Renowned Gospel Artists and Pastors such as Ron Kenoly, Bishop T. D. Jakes, Ron and Bebe Winans and Kirk Franklin, Israel Houghton, Don Moen, and Alvin Slaughter.

He hopes to remain a blessing to the body of Christ and the world at large. Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you DANNY NETTEY!!!! Catch him live on the 25th of December, 2014 at the Trinity Baptist Church as he celebrates the 10th anniversary of his annual concert dubbed “CHRISTMAS WITH DANNY NETTEY & FRIENDS.

Sonnie Badu seems to be coming up with periodic eyebrow raising gimmicks. After his dance to Kwabena Kwabena’s “Adult Music” at his wedding ceremony a few months ago went viral in the media, The “Wonder God” hit singer has over the weekend pulled another stunt at his live DVD recording concert in the USA.

The concert featured some big names in the gospel music industry including awards winning recording artists Darwin Hobbs and Jonathan Nelson all based in the USA. At the show, Jonathan Nelson had the privilege to perform a rendition of Sonnie Badu’s breakthrough song, BABA. Jonathan Nelson took to his facebook handle and said: “Had a blast this past weekend with my African brother. SONNIE Badu!! This man is super anointed and oh so humble. I’m truly honored that he afforded me the opportunity to sing his HUGE hit “BABA OH” for his live recording. Get to know him and his music! He’s got it!!!”

During these performances, Jonathan taught Sonnie a few American black church dance breaks and in return, Sonnie taught him the “AZONTO” dance originated from Ghana by the “Hiplife” rapper and BET award winner Sarkodie. Well your guess is as good as mine, “Really?” lol, YES!!! Really!!!.

Sonnie said on his instagram handle: “@nelsonjonathan was teaching me how to do the American dance and then I thought him how to do the A………….O fill in the gap😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜 #funtime!!!” Yeah, so there you go, it was all fun over the weekend in Baltimore. But hey, who said Christians cant dance “AZONTO”?

The concert which was dubbed AFRICA GOSPEL GOES CLASSICAL with SONNIE BADU was staged on Saturday the 1st of November at the New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore, USA and was produced by SMARTTYS MANAGEMENT & PRODUCTIONS. Sonnie Badu is really soaring high with his gift and must be supported to continue taking Africa to the rest of the world!!!!

This is a sad story that broke out in the USA yesterday when BLACK ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION ( BET) announced the cancellation of one of its flagship events CELEBRATION OF GOSPEL. More than 2.6 million total viewers tuned in to BET’s annual special “Celebration of Gospel” when it premiered on April 6, making it the number one gospel/religious telecast on TV for 14 consecutive years.

A celebration of faith through music, this year’s special featured an all-star roster of performances including Tamela Mann, Kem,Yolanda Adams, Charlie Wilson, Lalah Hathaway, Zacardi Cortez, SWV, Candice Glover, Donnie McClurkin, Tasha Page Lockart, India.Arie, Jonathan McReynolds, Erica Campbell, Rance Allen Group, Tasha Cobbs, Tye Tribbett, Le’Andria Johnson and others.

Despite its stellar ratings and continued success, BET revealed during their upfront presentation to advertisers in New York that “Celebration of Gospel” would not return as one of  its “Mega-Specials.” The network is bringing back the “BET Awards,” “Black Girls Rock,” “BET Hip Hop Awards,” and “BET Honors.

I didn’t believe this so i contacted a few friends of mine in the USA including JAMES FORTUNE and this is what they have to say. They mentioned that the COG has received a lot of bashing from Christians when it airs. ” the cancellation of the COG is not good but the Christian community is as part responsible because we watch it to bash it so how can we expect people to respect and support what we don’t support. Yes we watch but rip it apart so don’t be angry now that its gone”- ISAAC CARREE

Nicksolomonblog reached a rep at BET to enquire why the network has opted to cancel the top-rated special  this morning but we had not received a response when this story was published. We looking forward to get a good response from BET soon why this great event has been cancelled.Image
